IC Exclusive: Purge Hooks

Technically, Julio Azevedo's Ja'taarka is a worg from Droaam, but close enough.

My previous post discusses the idea of setting an adventure or campaign during the Lycanthropic Purge. Just for fun, I thought I'd create a few quick tables that can help DMs create a scene or scheme on the fly. While these are specifically aimed at the Purge era, with a few changes they could be used for any visit into the Towering Wood.

LOCATION

d6LocationTwist
1An Aundairian farm... In a manifest zone
2A shifter village... Above an ancient ruin
3A greatpine deadfall... in a strategic position
4A druidic ritual site... occupied by lycanthropes
5A river or body of water... that’s haunted
6A cavern or graveyard… with valuable resources

KEY NPC

2TemplarFarmer / RecruitHas a Vendetta
3AundairianArtisan / Veteran Is hoarding supplies
4AundairianHunter / VeteranHas gone missing

7Warden of the WoodDruid / PriestWas recently afflicted

“Occupation” should be adjusted based on allegiance. A Dragonmarked ”Farmer/Recruit” would mean an heir in a civilian role, who may have only recently developed their mark. With the druid sects, keep in mind that most of the people associated with the sects are farmers and artisans.  They hold to the BELIEFS of the sect, but actual druids and rangers are champions; you can be a Greensinger even if you can’t perform primal magic.

ADVENTURE

d6Story
1You must find and eliminate a ’thrope champion menacing the location.
2You must escort the key NPC and/or a caravan of supplies through ’thrope-held territory to the location.
3A templar commander believes the inhabitants of the location are hidden 'thropes. Can you determine the truth of this before they launch an attack?
4The location contains a focal point for the power of the Wild Heart, which is turning all natural creatures into deadly threats. Can you find it and destroy it?
5A beloved 'thrope—one of the Blessed of Olarune—has fallen under the influence of the Wild Heart. Can you capture them alive so their allies can keep them safely imprisoned?
6You must protect druids or adepts while they perform a ritual—or disrupt a ritual being performed by servants of the Wild Heart.

That's all for now! Thanks for your support, and if you'll excuse me, I need to go escort a shifter child who's been having oracular visions to a haunted druidic site—there's a ritual we need to perform!
